sketchbook project - how to start?
The Sketchbook project: My sketchbook with all the empty pages is giving me some pressure here....
I started already, but I'm not satisfied at all about how I did my first page. o problem, I can paint it over or take it out. I do have sort of an idea but before i start with it, I need to work it out a bit more. But somehow, here my creativity gets blocked! Ah well, the result of that, is creativity for something different: this drawing...
Not all is lost yet.

Illustration friday - Perennial
This weeks topic on Illustration Friday is "perennial". I actually had to look this up, as English isn't my first language... here we go:
So this is quite a challenge. There are lots of entries with flowers, but I wanted to do something else because my first association for this subject isn't flowers at all.
This is what I came up with:
What do you think?
| Definition: | enduring, perpetual |
| Synonyms: | abiding, annual, ceaseless, chronic, constant, continual, continuing, deathless, durable, eternal, everlasting, immortal, imperishable, incessant, inveterate, lasting, lifelong, long-lasting, long-lived, longstanding, never-ending, old, perdurable, permanent, persistent, recurrent, seasonal, sustained, unceasing, unchanging, undying, unfailing, uninterrupted, yearlong, yearly |

They draw and travel
The website TheyDrawAndCook has a sister site: TheyDrawAndTravel.
I made this map to submit on the TDAT website. Creating a map is not so easy as I thought it would be. I wanted it to look right, but I also wanted it to be usable. And my favourite spots had to be in the right places. Phiew, finally I decided this will never be finished. So I finished working on it.
I think the result is pretty okay, although it's not my favourite illustration ever...

public transport quick sketches
I don't particularly like travelling by public transport, but every now and then I have to.
Yesterday morning, I took advantage of it and did some quick sketches. I even missed a metro because I was concentrated working on a crease in a coat! Luckyly I could catch the next one just a few minutes later and I was still on time...

today's recipe, posted on www.theydrawandcook.com
As I already noticed some days ago: I got inspired by Sicily.
This salad is very easy to make, it's a real summer side dish. And I would almost forget...: fun to illustrate too!

Sicily
I just came back from a week on Sicily. Wow, it gave me so much inspiration for drawing, painting and... cooking!
Here are two pages of my journal, just to give an impression of my daily drawings...
