The neighborhood I live in, has wonderful builings. Whenever I feel the need to sketch buildings or draw outside, I don't need to go far to find something interesting.
Just a little bit of history: In the 20s and 30s of the last century, for the town planning of this neighborhood, the architect and town planner H.P. Berlage had buildings designed by several architects, in the style of the 'Amsterdam School'. It's an expressive and decorative style, it could be added to the Art Nouveau.
The building in the drawing above is an old school building and is now called MidWest. When you step inside, you feel there's a huge creative buzz going on in there, because the class rooms are now office spaces and studios for artists, entrepreneurs and creative businesses. Pretty darn awesome. They also have spaces for workshops, and I might do a live workshop in there in the near future.
